Applying Operations
What are Operations?
In ScryLab, operations are mathematical functions that you can apply directly to signals and modify at any time. See the Concepts section for an introduction to the workflow principle.
Operations can be started in two ways:
Via the Command Palette (Ctrl+P or the toolbar button) — search for and select the desired operation directly. You will then be prompted to select the relevant signals using the Signal Picker dialog.
Via the signal context menu — launch an operation directly on a signal. In this case the signals are already pre-selected and do not need to be specified again.
In both cases, the Operation dialog opens where you can configure the operation’s settings.
After confirming, the operation is integrated depending on the type and origin of the signal: it is either appended to the existing workflow of the selected signal, or a new signal is created in the Workspace Browser. If it is appended directly and the signal is already displayed in a plot, the visualization updates immediately.
The complete workflow of a signal — all applied operation steps in their order — can be viewed and edited at any time in the Workflow Widget in the right sidebar.
